Aleya is a birth and documentary style family photographer based in Chicago.

Their first step hits the ground. “It’s happening!” Mom is screaming. “Oh my gosh!” Baby is calm. “Come, quick!” Baby’s butt hits the ground. The tears come pouring out.

Obsessing over these tiny details is what I value the most. What are we missing when we take that phone call, are making dinner or think our babies are napping in the other room? These tiny moments don’t last forever.

My photos are full of light, details, and raw emotions. Candids are great, but what’s even better are the tiny moments in between. Getting ready for school. Making a meal together. Taking a family walk. Picking up dog poop - together. I shoot as a documenter of life within ever changing families. I love to capture the ways each family member creates and shares love for one another.

I believe when working with children, it's important to capture them in whatever moment they are having in that split second. Time flies by so quickly and those sweet little meltdowns that can be fixed with a hug from you are the moments you will long for just a few years from now. 

The goal: capture your family exactly as you are right now. You can expect lots of laughs, tons of snuggles, a few thousand fart jokes or screaming "boogers" as loud as you can. Capturing your family all together: Happy, silly faced, a little pooped on perhaps, but overall, totally in love.
